original member Paul Giacalone, and unknown. They continue to perform, mostly on the east coast, and sound very very good. Check out my Fireflies page for a complete look at their history, including Ritchie Adams and his solo sides.
This is the first and biggest hit that the Fireflies had in 1959. "You Were Mine" was a great vocal group record that peaked at number 21 on the Billboard charts, and etched the name of the group into everyone's mind in 1959.
The Fireflies followed up their first record with another Billboard chart record called "I Can't Say Goodbye", in early 1960. It was also a great group effort. They had just one more record for Ribbon, before moving to Canadian American, and reforming the group for some sides on the Taurus label.
