From the Nevada County Fair in August of 2003, the Olympics and I are posing after the show. From left to right: Walter Ward, Eddie Lewis, William DeVase, Vel Omarr. Vel was act number two that night, and is quite talented as a soloist. The Olympics were the last act and were a real highlight, especially when they did the Hully Gully! The Olympics started out as Walter Ward and the Challengers with a single release on Melatone. They changed names and record companies, and recorded "Western Movies". A smash hit that peaked out at #8 on the Billboard charts, their career was just beginning. The Olympics recorded all the way into the early 1970's and have been a popular act for over 55 years! Sadly, Walter ward passed away in December 2006, and William Devase passed in May 2009, both of long illnesses. |

Their first big hit on the Demon label, "Western Movies". Great sound effects and a fun Coasters style record, with the Olympics uniqueness. The flip was "Well". |

One of several albums the Olympics recorded over the years, this one is paying homage the Hully Gully. A Great classic pose from the Olympics graces the cover. |
